Rachael Nitz
Rooted in faith. Growing with gratitude.
Welcome!
My name is Rachael Nitz
I am a Christian, mom, wife, author, therapist, millennial, and lately I've been told I need to add "speaker" to that list although I'm not quite sold on that! ;) There are a few things that I really love: Jesus, CrossFit, adventuring, my family, and caring for my health. But that wasn't always the case. The old me loved alcohol, food, and trying to figure out who I was in all the wrong ways. But all of that changed when I had my daughter in 2014. My labor and delivery changed my entire life because God chose to save my life. My labor was hard, really hard. And my delivery was traumatic and by the end of it all I was in an ICU on a ventilator, separated from my daughter, but alive. Afterwards, when I was finally reunited with my little family, I met Jesus through a nurse I will never know the name of. I knew, without a doubt, that my entire life had to change. Since then I've tried to live for Jesus instead of for myself. That experience led me to want to be the role model my daughter could be proud of which led me to a (short) career as a personal trainer and nutrition coach which led me to becoming a therapist and to speaking my story and experience which finally led me to writing a book. Throughout all of that, here is what I whole heartedly believe: God has supplied us with every tool we need to be healthy in life, whether that be physical health, mental health, intellectual health, social health, and definitely spiritual health. Our job is to seek it out and to help our children seek it and know it too. As parents, we are the strongest role model our children will grow up with. What will they see? What will you show them? That's where I want to help. I may not always get it right as a mom, and in fact I get it wrong many times, but it is through these failures I've started to see and learn how to change. And I want to share it all with you! So Welcome!

"I bought "Becoming a Strong Girl" for my daughters (ages 9 & 10). From the very first chapter I could tell it was written with so much heart and purpose. I love the message throughout the book! It helps girls see themselves the way God sees them. This is something every young girl needs to hear right now. I love that it doesn't just talk about being strong physically, it teaches what it means to be strong in your mind, heart, and relationship with God. This book is positive, age-appropriate, and easy to connect with."
