A Little More About

I’m Rachael Nitz, a wife, mom, psychotherapist, author, and speaker. I believe deeply that faith and health were never meant to live in separate boxes.

There was a time in my life when I was searching for identity, comfort, and meaning in all the wrong places. That all changed in 2014 when the birth of my daughter became a life-altering experience. My labor and delivery were traumatic, and I found myself in the ICU on a ventilator, separated from my newborn daughter, but alive.

It was there, through the kindness of a nurse I will never know by name, that I encountered Jesus in a way that changed everything. From that moment on, I knew my life had to look different.

That experience reshaped how I see faith, health, and motherhood. I became deeply aware that the way I care for myself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually directly impacts the way I show up for my family.

Why I Do This Work

My journey led me through seasons of growth that included becoming a personal trainer and nutrition coach and eventually guiding me toward my calling as a therapist. Along the way, I began sharing my story, speaking to women and families, and ultimately writing Becoming a Strong Girl.

At the heart of everything I do is this belief. God has already given us the tools we need to live healthy, meaningful lives. Our role is to seek them, use them, and model them for our children.

I believe health is holistic and includes physical, mental, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual well-being. I believe parents are the first and strongest role models their children will ever know. I believe girls deserve to grow up confident, resilient, and rooted in who God created them to be. And I believe grace belongs in the process, because none of us get it right all the time.

I certainly don’t.

I support women, families, and communities through therapy, writing, speaking, and group experiences. My work is grounded in both professional training and lived experience and is approached with compassion, honesty, and respect. This includes speaking engagements, workshops, group experiences for girls, and faith-driven conversations around mental health and wellness.

Therapy services are provided through Interconnections, S.C., where I work as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Professional Background

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Old Dominion University and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Stout. I am a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin, with specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

While credentials matter, I believe connection matters more.

I do not have all the answers, and I am still learning every day. What I do have is a heart for growth, a deep faith, and a desire to walk alongside others as they navigate their own journeys.

If you are here, I am glad you found your way.
